The Top Midtown Manhattan Attractions
The Best of NYC is Steps Away
You don’t have to go far from The Gotham Hotel to see the best of New York City. Explore the most popular Midtown Manhattan attractions, all within walking distance of our hotel.
Times Square – The Crossroads of The World are just steps away. Broadway shows, whimsical museums, street performances, and the world-famous New Year’s Ball are all in Times Square – along with a whole lot more. A must-see for any visitor to NYC, Times Square and the Theater District are a short walk from The Gotham Hotel.
Empire State Building – The once tallest building in the world is still a towering presence in New York City. Located on 5th Avenue at 34th Street, the Empire State Building offers breathtaking views of Manhattan and beyond from its world-renowned observatories on the 86th and 102nd floors. With its iconic lights shining brightly in festive seasonal colors or to mark events in the city, the Empire State Building is a true New York icon.
Rockefeller Center & Plaza – Built as a “city within a city” over 85 years ago, Rockefeller Center is one of New York City’s most loved attractions. Home to the annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, an iconic skating rink and bronzed statue of Prometheus, and the Top of The Rock observatory, Rockefeller Center should be high on any list of top attractions in NYC. In addition to the outdoor attractions, Rockefeller Center features a grand concourse with shops, cafes, and scores of historic art. Stroll through the Channel Gardens at any time during the year for beautifully landscaped displays and a breath of fresh air. The Gotham Hotel is minutes from Rockefeller Center, located on 49th Street, between 5th and 6th Avenues.
New York Public Library – One of our favorite attractions in NYC (after all, our history is deeply rooted in books), the New York Public Library is one of the oldest libraries in New York (the oldest, The New York Society Library, can be found a few blocks north of The Gotham Hotel on 79th Street). With its storied collection of books in the multi-millions and its iconic structure that houses both private and public literary events, the New York Public Library is an ideal attraction for bookworms and history lovers.
